Congrats to Kristina Janolo, who won the title of Miss Florida — and Elizabeth Fechtel, who was crowned Miss Orlando’s Outstanding Teen.
Veteran competitor Janolo was first runner-up at Miss Florida 2009. The pageant at Mahaffey Theater featured 43 contestants between 17 and 24, competing in talent, swimsuit, eveningwear and interview categories. Among her accomplishments, our new Miss Florida developed C.A.R.E, Commitment to Always Remember the Elderly. According to her bio, she’s a senior majoring in Marketing at the University of Central Florida.
As a missionary to Central America, Miss Fechtel has performed for thousands of people and taught dance classes to girls to abuse survivors. Traveling to underprivleged countries has inspired her to make a daily difference in the local community, and she has received the President's Volunteer Award and been named one of Disney's Honorary Volunteers.
