On a new album released this month, Young The Giant asks, “Are You With Me?” The California rock band will get and answer, of sorts, this week.
This morning, Young The Giant quietly canceled its Tampa show set for Tuesday, June 2 at Yuengling Center, with the venue stating the show would now take place the next day, Wednesday, June 3 at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg.
The update from Yuengling Center added that, “No action is required to obtain a refund for your original tickets. Ticket refunds are processed to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear in your account within 5—7 business days. If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”
The band’s social media pages do not acknowledge the change.
Young The Giant last played Tampa in 2024, during a rain-soaked set at Gasparilla Music Festival.
Nathan Willett, frontman for opener Cold War Kids, told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that his band will play the new St. Pete date, too. A rep for opener Almost Monday told CL that the band will also play the Jannus Live show.
And for the haters, Young The Giant’s new album Victory Garden is supposed to be about “radical empathy,” so cut the guys a break?
