I crave all sorts of random things. Caffeine, affection from my yellow Lab, a vodka cranberry with lime over good conversation … Something else I absolutely have to have in order to survive life on this planet is music. Especially live music.
Live performance is the cheese to my macaroni when it comes to music. It is as vital to my musical existence as a shoe sale is to a shop-a-holic, as that first cup of morning coffee is to a stay-at-home mom.
I crave the pulse, the vibe, the rush, the buzz, the energy that comes from musically talented performers in the right venue with the right crowd.
Last year I had the pleasure of going to see Citizen Cope, a multi-talented band that combines various styles of rock and hip-hop to create a sublimely unique sound, for the first time at Jannus Landing. I have been to many shows, big and small, and this was by far one of the best concerts I have ever jammed out to. Citizen Copes raw energy mixed with the electricity of his dedicated followers and the open-air atmosphere of Jannus provided a phenomenal musical environment.
