Located on the outskirts of downtown Dunedin in a generic shopping plaza, Lueken’s Liquors is a cavernous, 20,000-square-foot store jam-packed with any alcohol you can imagine, from imported beers and liquors to wines of all varieties. Regular shoppers affectionately call it “the Wal-Mart of liquor stores,” because like the corporate mega-store, Leuken’s buys bulk quantities of sale items (in this case, alcohol) and passes off the savings to its customers. The aisles are wide and easy to navigate, the staff is helpful and courteous, and though Leuken’s has recently changed ownership, the new owner — Oldsmar businessman Chamoun Jallo — said he doesn’t plan on changing a thing.
