While it’s yet to make that big lineup in New Orleans, BOTB-winning La Lucha has performed at an impressive number of festivals including Clearwater Jazz Holiday where the jazz trio is a natural favorite. La Lucha’s latest studio album, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, was released to a pre-vaccine world in June 2020, and two years later, the trio is finally on a bill with harp, bass and drum trio Katara for what’s easily the best jazz gig in town this weekend, happening on Friday, Feb. 4.

Unreal that you can see this kind of talent with no cover, thanks to promoter Unusual Noise and Dunedin Brewery where the price of admission is almost always $0.

And if you miss Katara in Dunedin on Friday, the ensemble is slowly making its way back to Tampa over the weekend, with stops at St. Petersburg’s Floridian Social Club (Feb. 5), Seminole Heights’ Independent Bar (Feb. 6) and then back in St. Petersburg’s Independent Bar the next weekend (Feb. 11).
