Since its November reopening, proprietors at Hooch and Hive have made the West River bar, restaurant and music venue a solid bet when looking for a safe place to see live music (with extra credit to new Hooch General Manager Dean Rosenberger and Hive concert calendar bookers Brokenmold Entertainment).
This Friday, Brandenton’s In Transit arrives with a mix of alternative, progressive and indie-rock. There’s a smidge of ‘90s influence in there, but not that Wallflowers crap. When guitarist Adam Byers rocks a Mr. Bungle t-shirt, you know the band’s influences are in the right place—and I’ll give a chance to any band that calls on the rock god that is Mike Patton.
