Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander's sextape

There's no denying the amount of buzz generated by a good sex scandal. The majority of Americans [image-1]wouldn't know who Kim Kardashian, Tommy Lee, or Ray J were if it weren't for their sex-tapes. I'm not complaining. I don't mind watching c-list celebrities in the buff, unless of course it is Screech from Saved by the Bell. I just wish celebrities would stop pretending they didn't know what would happen when they invited the camcorder into the bedroom. And with all their time on screen, you'd think they'd learn how to operate a camera or light a set so we don't have to watch what looks like green aliens having sex via night vision.

Dovetailing off the advancement and ease of digital recording and publishing, our Peep culture has facilitated this sex-tape boom. Reality shows and the internet have fed our voyeurism and exhibitionist culture to the point where people will do anything to become famous, and viewers will watch these aspiring stars rise and fall.[image-2]

Sunday, May 11, a man calling himself Mr. ZZee, sent a press release claiming that he possesses a hardcore sextape featuring VH1 reality "star" Nicole "Hoopz" Alexander.

Haven't heard of "Hoopz"? You will. The buzz generated by this scandal will likely lead to her own reality show, as it did for Kim Kardashian and Ray J.

A bikini model and aspiring actress (whatever that means nowadays), Alexander gained fame after winning the reality shows I Love Money and the first season of Flavor of Love (that is if you consider being Flavor Flav's girlfriend winning). Erotic photos of Alexander are posted all over the internet as well as rumors that she has done strip club work. I'm not implying that these professions are steppingstones to sex-tape work. What I am saying is that it wouldn't surprise me to learn that a star whose celebrity is fading as quick as it came—the winner of a reality show where contestants are rewarded for being greedy and morally lax—would have a hand in leaking her own sex-tape.
